POEM - END OF HOMECOMING WINGS: Night Unending
Short Summary: It feels like a warning wrapped in a fable—suggesting that some things must remain untouched until the right moment, or that tampering with the natural order has dire consequences. It also carries an emotional weight, evoking the pain of loss and the human yearning to escape death’s grasp. This seems to be warning everyone on the dangers of everything Ever is doing: The experiments, bringing people back to life. There will be consequences.
[this is probably about Ever and the experiments towards Immortality, this is mostly seen in his Myth and it’s all about the Professor and - I believe - Ever.]
Full Poem:
IN A FOREST WHERE SHATTERED STARS REST, A CRYSTALLINE POOL APPEARS.
AS IF INFUSED WITH THE WINE OF LIFE, IT’S CLEAR YET MURKY.
YOUNG TRAVELER, DO NOT DRINK FROM IT.
LOST LOVER, DO NOT DRINK FROM IT.
BUT WHEN FLOWERS WITHER IN THEIR SLEEP, WHEN WINDS FALL SILENT, WHEN THE VIGILANT OWL CLOSES ITS EYES -
ONLY THEN CAN YOU DRINK DEEP OF THESE WATERS.
LET THE DEAD SING:
“O FOUNTAIN OF ATEI! CLEANSE MY TIME, NOURISH MY FLESH, SPARE ME FROM THE LONELINESS OF ETERNAL REST! SPARE ME FROM THE LONELINESS OF ETERNAL REST…”
[the way the poem is shown is like… The poem is repeated and then a new line is added. This could be a reference to how MC goes through a lot of cycles, and learns more everytime]
Interpretation:
