SPECULATIONS ABOUT LORE・STORY PLOT・FINAL DESTINY
- Wild quantum physics theory: hisBlack-Red Mist is something like Quantum Technology. While the ideas below provide a theoretical framework for understanding the mist, the narrative does not explicitly support these scientific principles. His EVOL — Energy Manipulation — suggests the ability to control matter at a molecular or subatomic level.
- Teleportation. All things below suggest that he is manipulating particles or energy on a very small level. If Sylus can break down any physical form into particles, he could phase through locked dimensions or barriers. This ability might explain how he escaped the Space-Time prison. He may have just deconstructed his form, bypassed restrictions, and reformed outside of it. His Evol may give him control over particle-wave duality, meaning he can exist as a solid or as energy, allowing him to bypass conventional physics.
- The bullet fractures and dissolves within the mist, showing an ability to disrupt the molecular structure of matter. The mist's instantaneous interaction with the bullet and men could be interpreted as a form of quantum entanglement, where two particles are linked regardless of distance.
- Sylus sometimes looks like he's falling apart and then coming back together somewhere else, including his dodging in battles. This could be a kind of teleportation where he breaks down into tiny particles and then puts himself back together. This is similar to the idea of quantum tunneling, where particles can pass through barriers by existing in multiple states at once. However, this is not a typical teleportation. "Was there - not there - now here" doesn't seem to be the case here. We can see the mist flying toward the location, swirling and then reforming him.
- Also, **in Long-Awaited Revelry・Ambiguous Chaos, Chapter 2 "Alike," Luke and Kieran suddenly appear "out of air," and Mephisto disappears with Sylus, then slowly appears from the mist particles on his shoulder. This suggests that he can use his EVOL's "disintegrating" abilities not only on himself but on anything or anyone else, and not always in a "destruction" mode. The idea of teleporting living beings raises questions about consciousness transfer. How does Sylus's Evol preserve consciousness during teleportation? And OMG, what an immense amount of trust twins have in their boss. 😁
- Another interesting case is how Mephisto appears from the mist at the Destiny Cafe. Could there be some hidden way that Mephisto is communicating, like saying he wants to meet the boss, and that would make Sylus disintegrate and reassemble Mephisto? Or can Mephisto do so independently, seamlessly deconstructing and reconstructing himself wherever he pleases?
- The last case for now is teleporting plushies in the claw machine. I don't think he's making it out of thin air; he's getting it from another machine.
- Destruction and consumption of the energy. Sylus is consuming the mist particles that are created from whatever he eliminates.
- Sylus can break the growing crystals in Abomination (as he did with Kieran). This matches the idea that his EVOL can control matter at a molecular or subatomic level. If his EVOL lets him disrupt or deconstruct energy forms, then it makes sense that he could counteract the transformation process by breaking down the energy structure of the crystals.
- "Black-Red Mist drifts from their bodies. It travels along the dragon's horns to his tail before entering the wound in the young man's chest". — Narrator, MC's vision of Sylus's past in Beyond Cloudfall
- This line could also be a symbol of taking in the power or essence of those who have been defeated. As it flows into his chest, it suggests that he is drawing strength or energy from the dead. This idea matches the idea in the line "The curse he once despised has become his strength," where the boy's change is powered by the life force of others, turning a curse into a source of strength.
- The mist entering his chest and the dragon wings that emerge from it suggest regeneration and transformation. The mist might be facilitating his healing and the awakening of his true dragon form. This is what started my theory on his myst, aging, and healing.
- He consumed particles from the dissipated Man In Black. The particles are moving towards his hand, not out of it. And we also have another instance in Solon Hotel (in Mischief) when "nothing remains of the man". All the rumors about "eating people" (in Elysium), and "drinking blood" (in Mischief) start to make sense. It may explain why he is not/or slowly aging. A vampire that doesn't drink blood, but consumes the whole human 0_0.

- Healing and reviving. Let's accept this as a form of energy transfer or absorption and then talk about the healing part of his EVOL:
- Think about times when Sylus heals quickly in some instances and seems vulnerable in others. This inconsistency suggests a healing mechanism that is dependent on resources. He may use those consumed particles — energy — to heal himself. Sylus's ability to heal instantly might depend on the amount of energy he has recently absorbed. If his energy reserves are low, his healing could be slower or require external physical care, as we see in some memories.
- His EVOL is also capable of reviving withered flowers. This suggests he can redistribute absorbed energy, not only for personal regeneration but also to rejuvenate other entities. So its dual nature (black and red) could symbolize destruction or death and rebirth. Such control over energy transfer aligns with thermodynamic principles, where energy is neither created nor destroyed but transformed, with potential entropy implications. Reviving flowers might be a one-off narrative device, not a core power. However …
- In the myth, the text shows that he does heal MC via the black mist. The text is quite explicit that once the mist recedes from his hand, her wounds are gone without leaving scars.
- Then the question is, if Sylus can heal himself with his EVOL, why didn't he heal Kieran's scars? If his healing abilities depend on how much energy he has consumed, maybe he decided not to waste energy on Kieran's scars.
- More instances are needed to confirm energy sharing/redistribution as a consistent power.
